much
easier to access the jobs you want. You should check out your
local Department of Education if you are looking to get a teaching
job.
The
Selection Process
Usually
for most Teaching Jobs there is a selection process that you will
have to go through. This is the case for most Government jobs.
In a lot of schools, the Principal is responsible for recruiting
his or her staff. This means it is like applying for any other
job. They may have their own selection based process and request
that you complete that process to see if you could become a successful
canidate.
There
may be a slecetion panel which is mae up of a couple of people
who will interview you and ask you all the relevant questions
in relation to the position. They will go through issues like
your qualifications,
relevant skills, personal qualities and abilities required for
the efficient performance of the position.
It
pays to be ready when you go for an interview and know your answers
well and be able to 'sell yourself' to the school. You need to
be able to show them what the benefits are of hiring you and what
you can opffer to their school.
When
the selection panel and the Principal make a decision they are
required to comply with equal employment opportunity and privacy
legislation in your local State. Getting a teaching job is just
like any other job. You should present yourself well, speak clearly,
be polite and be ready to provide all the required information
that they may request of you.
